Age UK BRWF’s CEO launches #VolunteersWeek with a message of thanks!

Volunteers' Week is an annual celebration of the contribution millions of people make across the UK through volunteering in their communities. Age UK BRWF’s CEO, Amanda Allen, has shared the following words to recognise the fantastic contribution volunteers make to our charity.
‘I started as a volunteer for Age UK Bromsgrove, Redditch & Wyre Forest and certainly did not foresee where this would lead. Volunteers are one of our most important assets, we could not deliver the services we do without them. They bring with them a wealth of life skills and expertise which support communities and contribute to society. The social contact aspect of helping and working with others can have a profound effect on the overall psychological well-being for the volunteer and equally for the recipient.
To all of our volunteers, thank you for what you do. You have my everlasting gratitude this week in particular for what you do year-round, so often without recognition or fanfare. Volunteerism is the very soul of our charity, and this is a time to remember and recognise that.
Please join me this week in thanking Age UK Bromsgrove, Redditch and Wyre Forest volunteers. Chances are, you are right next to one!’
