Shedding Is Spreading

On 31st July 2019, members of Bromsgrove Men In Sheds visited The Community Housing Group’s Berrington Court (Kidderminster) to support the opening of the ‘Berrington Shed’.

In September 2018 Berrington Court residents, along with representatives from Care & Support 24 (part of The Community Housing Group) and Age UK’s Bromsgrove Men In Sheds, were involved in an initial stakeholder meeting to look at setting up a Men’s Shed at Berrington Court - ten month’s later it became a reality!

Speaking at the launch, Age UK BRWF’s Jo Hughes said:

"It has been fantastic to experience how everybody has come together to make the ‘Berrington Shed’ happen, and to witness its opening today and the impact that it is already having. 

Recent studies have highlighted that older men are increasingly experiencing loneliness in later life, but that there are very few activities which appeal to them, which is why initiatives like ‘Men In Sheds’ are so important. 

We look forward to continuing to work with The Community Housing Group and others to help raise the profile of ‘shedding’ across Wyre Forest and Worcestershire as a whole!"
