Comms and Social Media Volunteer
As Comms and Social Media Volunteer you will be supporting us in promoting and publicising Age UK Bristol and the work we do. We need to communicate and inform older people about the services we provide, and we also need to communicate what we do for fundraising, volunteer participation, and communication with our partner agencies.
You will work closely with the Communications and Fundraising Manager.
This role involves
- Sourcing, editing and inputting content for our social media accounts. Age UK Bristol has Facebook (including a group) Instagram and LinkedIn.
- Creating graphics on Canva for social media and for our website.
- Writing content for the Age UK Bristol website.
- Updating promotional materials for services such as posters and flyers.
- Sourcing, editing and inputting content for quarterly supporters e-newsletter aimed at people over 50.
- Support the Comms and Fundraising Manager with other projects as required.
The qualities and skills required for this role are
- Experience of designing content for social media, in a paid or unpaid capacity or while in education or training.
- Knowledge of marketing and promotion, or willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Interested in the needs and aspirations of older people.
- Ability to complete induction training and other essential training.
- IT literacy.
Training
We offer induction training, including essential Safeguarding Training and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Training, and other relevant training opportunities to enable you to fulfil this volunteer role.
Suggested hours
3 hours a week. Timings are flexible.
Location
Either at our Victoria Street office or remotely.
