Bristol Walk Fest is a walking festival that runs from 1st – 31st May to coincide with Living Streets’ National Walking Month. The festival began over a decade ago to inspire and encourage people of all ages to explore Bristol by foot. The festival includes walks across Bristol that you can enjoy either individually or with others, with inclusive walks and events for people of all ages, interests, and abilities. The walks are either free or low-cost, providing everyone with an opportunity to get to know their city.
This year’s festival is set to be the biggest one yet with over 80 walk providers involved in running more than 150 different events and activities during May. The festival is run by Age UK Bristol as a part of our Active Ageing programme but is open to people of all ages.
We’re offering a Nordic walking taster to our FAB members on Friday 19th May starting from The Beehive Centre and finishing at The Orchard Cafe in St George BS5 as a part of the festival. This is a welcoming, friendly, and sociable Nordic walking taster for FAB members where you’ll be taught the basic Nordic walking technique and go for a gentle walk with Vicky Welsh of Let’s Walk Bristol. Booking is essential for this taster, please email FAB@ageukbristol.org.uk to book your place.
Visit the Bristol Walk Fest website for full details about the events or pick up a printed programme from your local library, leisure centre or community centre.
