Trusted Trader Scheme

Published on 02 January 2024 08:51 AM

Age UK Bradford District has a Trusted Trader Scheme to allow older people in the district to easily find reliable and trustworthy tradespeople. Selecting a reliable, trustworthy builder or trades person can be a risky business at any age and this is why Age UK Bradford District want to help people to make an informed choice with their Trusted Trader Scheme.

The scheme has been developed to help make life easier for older people, their carersfamilies and friends who are looking for products and person centred services. Working in partnership with local tradespeople, contractors and companies provides the much-needed connections to reliable and trustworthy providers.

In developing the Trusted Trader Scheme, Age UK Bradford District has tried to remove some of the risk involved in finding a reliable contractor/company to carry out works.

Regulatory checks are performed on all registered traders, contractors and companies detailed in the database and participants registered with the scheme sign up to Trusted Trader Charter.

Age UK Bradford District ensures that all traders, contractors and companies participating in the scheme have a current Public Liability Insurance Certificate; two references from satisfied customers; a declaration of any criminal convictions; a basic disclosure check that is carried out before registration onto the scheme is accepted; relevant registration with regulatory bodies or relevant certifications and the traders also have an interview with a member of their team.

The Age UK Bradford District Trusted Trader Database can be viewed online https://www.ageuk.org.uk/bradforddistrict/our-services/help-at-home/trusted-trader-database/ or a paper copy is available by calling 01274 391190.

If you are a trustworthy local trader, contractor or business there are many benefits to being part of the database. It is a great way to advertise your business and support your local community. Registration for the database costs £200 (plus VAT) per year and all funds generated through the database go towards supporting Age UK Bradford District's work with older people across the local area.

More information about joining the scheme is available by calling 01274 391190 or emailing info@ageukbd.org.uk
