Make a Difference: Become Part of the Fundraising Team for Age UK Bradford District

Age UK Bradford District is on the lookout for passionate individuals to join its fundraising team. If you’re looking for a rewarding way to give back to the community, meet new people, and support older people, this is the perfect opportunity.

People like Margaret Hughes (pictured) are already making an incredible impact. Margaret has been giving her time to Age UK Bradford District on a voluntary basis for over 15 years, initially working in the offices and now actively helping with fundraising. She regularly takes part in supermarket collections and places donation tins in local businesses, helping to raise vital funds to support older people across Bradford, Shipley, Keighley and beyond.

“I love getting out, meeting people, and raising awareness about what Age UK Bradford District does,” said Margaret. “After losing my partner, I didn’t want to sit at home. Volunteering has kept me active, connected, and part of something meaningful.”

The charity’s fundraising team play a crucial role in ensuring that Age UK Bradford District can continue to provide essential services, including warm spaces, information, expert advice and casework, and groups and activities for those aged 50 and over. Whether it’s collecting donations at events, finding new places for collection tins, or simply encouraging others to support the charity’s work, every effort helps make a difference.

Lynette Elphee, Income Generation Lead, said "Our fundraising team are essential to our work at Age UK Bradford District. We’re a small, local charity, so every collection, every donation tin, and every conversation help us provide vital support to local older people and raise awareness of our services. By joining our team, you’ll not only make a real difference but also meet new people and be part of something truly rewarding. If you have a few hours to spare, we’d love to have you on board!"

If you’re interested in becoming a part of the fundraising team, Age UK Bradford District would love to hear from you. No previous experience is necessary, just a willingness to get involved and support a great cause.
