Age UK Bradford & District’s Independent Living Centre in Wrose will stay closed until end of week at least

A charity’s new Independent Living Centre has been forced to close down temporarily after the building was badly damaged in last week’s severe weather.
Electrics at Age UK Bradford & District’s centre in Wrose Road, Wrose, were damaged after high winds wrecked the roof and allowed rainwater to get in.
The centre provides information and advice, access to products and services, as well as a charity shop and warehousing for stock destined for the charity’s shops.
Chief executive Mark Rounding said the whole building was likely to be closed until the end of this week at least, while repairs were carried out.
He said: “We were quite lucky in that we were able to move some stock, but some stock has been damaged.
“It also means we’ve had to rearrange the information and advice appointments this week.”
He said the centre, which opened in November, was one of their most successful sites and that they were grateful for the support from the local community.
