Role Description

As a wellbeing group volunteer, you will facilitate group sessions designed to be friendly warm and welcoming, to improve the wellbeing of older residents in Little Lever. With the support of the Ageing Well Coordinator, you will support at the group by making hot drinks, guiding conversations and facilitating friendships between members.  

The group is held weekly on a Wednesday at Spring View Medical Centre, Mytham Rd, Little Lever 10:15am – 11:30am. 

Specific Responsibilities 

  • Help with setting up the group  
  • Engage in conversation with group members, providing friendship and encouraging peer social interactions. 
  • Ensure that the group is delivered within a safe, welcoming environment 
  • Make refreshments for the group  
  • Help tidying up after the group 
  • Complete registration and enrolment forms 

What We're Looking For

  • An open-minded approach to individuals, avoiding judgement and stereotyping. 
  • A liking for and interest in working with older people 
  • Ability to work as part of a team. 
  • Willingness to attend training and other events and to be able to commit to regular volunteering hours. 
  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (criminal records check) 

Time Requirements

Weekly on a Wednesday 2-3 hours.
