Flick-FLAC Film Club

Our exciting new venture Flick-FLAC (Flicks at Farnworth Learning and Activities Centre) film club, funded by the Community Fund, is being delivered in partnership with Age UK Bolton, Tracy and Fran from The Videobox.
This summer, film fans have been treated to two free film afternoons, with more planned for the coming year. So far they have enjoyed ‘Pride’ and the heart-warming film 'Green Book'. Not only have people enjoyed the films, the club doubled its numbers.
Flick-FLAC brings the medium of film to the community offering a wonderful opportunity for local people to enjoy a relaxing afternoon out and a chance to meet and make new friends. One lady said, “I love watching films, but find it hard to get out to the local cinema at night and it’s so much better and welcoming coming somewhere like this. I am getting to know people and feel part of the group. Plus, I like the fact that we are choosing the next film together, so it gives me something to look forward to.”
With our car park just outside, Flick-FLAC makes the cinema experience so much more accessible. Where else can you go to see a free film and enjoy free refreshments?
Our next film showing is on the 17th September, and the film of the month is Hidden Figures, which has had superb reviews. Hidden Figures is based on the true story of a group of women who were the brains behind the launch of astronaut John Glenn, and turned the space race around. Sounds like a blast!
Doors open at 1.30pm and the film starts at 2.00pm at the Learning & Activities Centre, Farnworth. We would love you to join us and give it a try.
If you would like to come along, please phone us on 01204 701525 to reserve a seat, although you are more than welcome to just turn up. If you aren’t able to come, do tell your friends about it and watch out for the next film announcement. Future dates are 15th October, 19th November and 17th December.
We look forward to welcoming you to Flick-FLAC very soon.
