Age UK Bolton has appointed Becci Martin, founder and director of Bolton-based business Boo Coaching and Consulting, to its Board of Trustees.

Becci is a nationally respected voice in workplace wellbeing, leadership development and person-centred management. A Boltonian through and through, Becci brings a powerful blend of expertise, energy and values that perfectly align with Age UK Bolton’s evolving culture and ambitions.

Her appointment comes at a significant moment for the charity, which has committed to strengthening its leadership and management development in the year ahead and beyond. This work is about much more than internal development—it’s about creating the right conditions for our staff to thrive, so they can bring and be their best selves at work. That, in turn, ensures the highest quality of support for older people now and into the future.

Lauren McKechnie, CEO of Age UK Bolton, said:

“Becci’s appointment is another step forward in our journey to build a people-led, values-driven organisation. We know that investing in our team is vital to delivering high-quality, sustainable services for older people in Bolton. Becci brings a depth of knowledge and insight that will help us embed a positive, thriving workplace culture across everything we do.”

Becci Martin commented:

“I’m delighted to join Age UK Bolton at such a dynamic time. The charity’s vision and commitment to people—both those it supports and those who work within it—really resonate with me. It’s a privilege to bring my skills and experience to an organisation so rooted in its community and so ambitious about its future.”

John Cooper, Chairman of Age UK Bolton, added:

“We’re thrilled to welcome Becci to the board. Her professional expertise and clear passion for people make her a fantastic addition. Becci's influence will help ensure our team and culture is supported, inspired and equipped to deliver for the people of Bolton, now and for generations to come.”

Becci’s appointment reflects Age UK Bolton’s broader ambition to be recognised not just as a leading local charity, but as a national exemplar of compassionate, forward-thinking organisational leadership.
