Two-time Olympian to talk safeguarding in sport with Age UK Bolton.

Former Olympic short-track speed skater Charlotte Gilmartin will be on hand as part of an Age UK Bolton wellbeing event at the Ageing Well Centre in Farnworth.
Charlotte skated for Team GB as a youth athlete at 15 before representing the nation at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi and the 2018 games in PyeongChang. Charlotte has also Skated for Team GB at the world and European championship events picking up a gold medal in the 3000 meters and overall silver in the 2016 European Championships as well as picking up the 500 meters bronze medal a year on at the 2017 European Championships and has also medalled at the World Championships.
Charlotte will discuss safeguarding in sport, alongside Tina Thordal, and answer questions.
As well as the chance to meet Charlotte Gilmartin, the session will also be offering a question and answer session on biomechanics with Age UK Bolton’s newest Strength & Balance coach Ste Franklin.
Age UK Bolton Strength & Balance Service Manager Niall Bradley said “Safeguarding in sport is a really important issue, and to have such a successful elite athlete coming to the centre to help us broach it is fantastic.
