Age UK Ask for help to stop the struggle of rising energy bills

Age UK Bolton are supporting Age UK in the struggle against rising energy bills and we are asking for your help in this important campaign.

With the cold weather setting in, rising energy prices are going to leave millions of people unable to afford to stay warm this winter. So we really need your help persuading the Government to provide extra support to those who will struggle with energy bills over the coming months.

We are very concerned that lots of you have told us you’ve already started rationing your heating or hot meals, putting your health at serious risk. Like Marion, who said “I can only cut back on the small amount I spend on food now to find the extra for heating.”

But we don’t have to accept this.

We must ask the Government to provide urgent funding to stop people going cold because they’re so worried about the cost. We need to tell our MPs how much rising energy bills will hurt older people.

We are backing Age UK’s campaign and are asking you to email your MP to campaign for this issue to be raised in parliament. We believe that emails from constituents will make it harder for MPs to ignore the crowing crisis facing our aging population, but here in Bolton and on a nationwide scale.
