Wear it Woolly in February

Published on 10 January 2025 11:30 AM

We are asking schools and organisations to hold a 'wear it woolly' dress down day in February to support our local work and services for older people in Blackburn with Darwen.

Choose any date in February and ask people to wear woolly clothing - the brighter and more colourful the better - hats, scarves, jumpers even onesies anything that is warm. They make a small donation of £1 or more to do this.

We can help with presentations in assemblies, talks to students, posters and collection boxes if needed.

Some older people are worrying about how they will keep warm this winter - living on a fixed income and unable to leave the house when the weather is very cold they need to use their heating for longer periods than usual. For some people they are choosing between heating or eating.

Our services can help older people to claim what they are entitled to and can help support people to live independently at home for as long as possible. Monies raised from the Wear it Woolly day help us to keep delivering these services at current level and helping more local older people.
