Befriending Officer

37 hours p/w    £23,571 + benefits 

Are you ready for the next challenge? Do you want a career that really makes a difference to older people? 

This is an opportunity for an outgoing individual, and we would like to hear from candidates who are highly motivated, sociable and well-organised, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 

We are looking for someone who is passionate about the work of the charity and would enjoy making a real difference to isolated and lonely older people. 

Age UK Birmingham and Age Concern Birmingham are working in partnership to support existing befriending services and develop new groups across the city. 

Key tasks include: 

  • Supporting existing befriending groups 
  • Establishing engaging new groups working with them to become self-led, independent and sustainable 
  • Delivering a range of activities and workshops
