Home Help Service
Age UK Bedfordshire provides a first class Home Help Service throughout Bedfordshire and Luton. We not only help keep your home neat and tidy, we do it always with a smile on our face and a warm word. The service has been running for nearly 30 years and is available accross the county of Bedfordshire and Luton to those over the age of 50. Our fully (and regularly) police checked and trained team are chosen for their caring nature and interest in helping others. Many of our 120 plus strong team have been with us for over 10 years.
Your Home Help will visit you on a regular basis (minimum once a week) for an hour or more as required. They can clean, dust, polish, vacuum, do the laundry and ironing, clean the inside of windows, prepare a light meal or go shopping for you or with you.
The service has continued throughout the Coronavirus Pandemic and we have made over 60,000 hours of home visits, without a single transmission of COVID 19.
Backing the Home Help team is a knowledgeable and very experienced support group, who will ensure you receive whatever other help you might ask for. We can ensure you are receiving the correct level of income, provide advice on keeping warm and well in winter, ensure you are on the best tariff with your energy providers and so much more.
We are a totally independent charitable organisation with excellent communication links with Local Government, the Bedfordshire Police and the Fire and Rescue Services.
