Age UK Barnsley’s Penistone Ageing Well Together Service is holding a series of ‘Sloppy Slipper’ events in the Penistone East and Penistone West Wards over the coming weeks.
The events will focus on falls prevention and ensuring that older residents have access to advice and information about reducing the risk of falls.

Commenting, Age UK Barnsley CEO Debby Bunn said:
“Many slips, trips and falls in the home are caused by wearing badly fitting slippers – which are putting older residents at risk.
“Our Penistone Area Sloppy Slipper events will ensure that residents can collect a free pair of well-fitted slippers as well as accessing information and advice about reducing the risk of falls at home.”
