Are you worried about the rising costs of energy? Concerned that your bills are going through the roof? Having to face the impossible choice between heating and eating?
Here at Age UK Barnsley, we are here proud to be providing free warm homes checks through our Information and Advice Service for residents aged 50+ who are struggling to afford their heating bills and want to improve the energy efficiency of their homes.
A Warm Homes Check will entail:
- Initial assessment of your property
- Providing energy saving lightbulbs; draught excluders; radiator foil covers; and basic insulation
- Advice for how you can improve your home’s energy efficiency
- Signposting to other organisations for advice and benefit checks
Commenting, Age UK Barnsley CEO Debby Bunn said:
“We know that there are many older people worried about the rising cost of energy this winter, with some facing the awful choice between heating and eating.
“We are very proud to be offering our Warm Homes Checks to residents in need and would encourage those who are worried about their bills to get in touch.”
