Silver Sunday - the celebration
Over 600 people joined us to celebrate Silver Sunday yesterday at Middlesex University! A stimulating day of talks, entertainment, advice and an opportunity to mIngle and socialise.
One man bumped into someone he hadn’t seen for 30 years. As Professor Catherine Loveday said in her talk Love and Connection, feeling connected by joining groups or coming to events like these, not only makes us feel happier, it can have a long lasting positive impact on our health.
Our Later Life Planning team were incredibly busy sorting people’s problems. We received so many positive comments about the advice they’d received. One lady broke down in tears: ‘I only came for advice about funeral plans, but received so much more,’ she said…
We also launched our Age-friendly Barnet project - and the results of our survey based on over 1,000 Barnet residents who filled it out. Find out more here.
