Gardening competition - the winners!

Thanks to everyone who entered - we loved looking through your photos! It's been a fun way for our creative and greenfingered supporters to raise money to help us improve the wellbeing of older people in Barnet. And thanks to our friends at The Flower Bank and The Sunshine Garden Centre for donating prizes.
MOST CREATIVE RECYCLED FLOWER CONTAINER
Congratulations to Margie from Hanshaw Drive Sheltered Housing for winning the prize for the most creative recycled flower container with this fantastic decoupaged pot made - rather ingeniously - from a baby bath!
TALLEST SUNFLOWER
Well done to everyone at Magnolia Court for growing the tallest sunflower and to runners up Afua and her two lovely children.
'We're so delighted to have won - you've made our day,' say Tammie and Mimi from Magnolia Court whose sunflower was an impressive 236cm high.
And Afua, with a sunflower measuring 234cm, says: 'That's wonderful news. My children are so excited!'
HEAVIEST CARROT
A big cheer for Janet who won our heaviest carrot prize - 24cm long and weighing 310g - all the more impressive when you consider she'd never grown carrots before!
'There was an element of beginner's luck and I did a lot of research,' says Janet. 'I think it helped that the seeds were planted in newly constructed raised beds with new pristine compost!'
Janet says she'll have to wait until next year's crop to see whether she's really found the secret to growing big carrots!
