Thank you to our amazing volunteers!

It's Volunteers Week and we want to take this opportunity to thank all our volunteers for the incredible work you have been doing over the past year.

It has been particularly challenging during the Covid-19 crisis when we have had to adapt all our services to meet the needs of our older clients, many of whom have not been able to leave their homes.

Thanks to all of you who have helped us reach out to so many older vulnerable people in Barnet. We couldn’t have done it without you!

‘We have recruited nearly 200 more volunteers to support our response and a very significant number of our existing volunteers have adapted their involvement to help as well,’ says Volunteer Manager Lisa. ‘Many of you have been involved in our shopping and befriending service which has been a real lifeline to a huge number of older people in Barnet.’

‘Many of our existing Age UK Barnet volunteers have not been in a position to help but have kept in touch and supported in other brilliant and important ways.

'As well as shopping and phone befriending, we also have a number of volunteers who are helping support older people to access technology such as Zoom, online shopping and online banking.’
