Age UK Hythe, Lyminge and Ashford hold regular events throughout the year for fundraising, information and fun.

Most people come to Age UK Hythe, Lyminge and Ashford for the companionship, fun and opportunity to take part in activities.

All 3 centres have cafes serving refreshments, snacks and homemade cakes, so you can pop-in for a bite to eat, attend an activity of your choice or stay all day which includes a full two course lunch!

If you choose to stay all day we can provide door-to-door transport, subject to availibility, or just pop along to join the activity of your choice. There is a small charge for activities.

Our centres run the following social activities - please always call first to book on and check arrangements - 01303 269602. 

There are no waiting lists for any activities - please feel free to pop in and give them a try. You will receive a warm welcome!

We also organise accompanied day trips and holidays.

Across our Centres, Hythe, Lyminge and Ashford we offer a variety of events throughout the year that you can come along and join us at to help raise funds for our vital services for the community. Please see our Upcoming Fundraising Events section to see what we have coming up.

Regular activities

  • Cookery

    Regular cookery classes at both Hythe and Ashford with delicious hot food and friendly faces.

  • Walking group

    We offer walking groups for people who are 55 and over. Come and explore as well as exercising with us!

  • Chair-based Exercise

    We have classes for many abilities to help you stay fit and healthy in later life.

  • Book group

    Stories and poems are read aloud generating discussion, laughter and thought. All are welcome. There is no pressure to talk, read or even drink tea.

  • Knit & Natter

    We are constantly in need of wool for our projects as we produce a lot of goods for our chosen charities. 

  • Various Games

    A sociable activity that is mentally beneficial as it keeps the brain alert and exercises attentiveness.

    There are many ways you can fundraise for us from running a marathon to having a bake sale. Whatever you decide to do we are always grateful for the time and effort you have put into fundraising for us.
