We provide a range of different classes that can participated in from the comfort of your own home.

Strength and Balance

We can support you in maintaining health, mobility and independence. We have a variety of group exercise classes, both in-person and online, along with options to support you to be active at home.

Strength and balance classes can enable you to maintain health, mobility, and independence, to keep doing what you love for longer. Being active is also a great way to boost energy levels and general wellbeing.

Current participants have told us they love the social element and the opportunity to meet like-minded people, all whilst having fun and getting a little fitter.

During each class our amazing tutors will incorporate strength and resistance exercises (beneficial for muscle, bone and joint health, and help to make everyday tasks easier), along with balance exercises (to give greater confidence, improve posture and help to reduce your risk of falls).

Online classes are £4 per session.

- Mondays 10-11am
- Tuesdays 10-11am
- Thursdays 11am-12pm (This class includes some floor work.)
- Fridays 10:30-11:30am

Once the team have processed your registration you will be emailed a booking link for the online classes you are interested in.

Mind and Body (a blend of Tai Chi and yoga poses, with Pilates breathing)

Mind and Body classes blend Tai Chi and yoga poses with Pilates breathing to create a sense of well-being and peace whilst exercising.

The exercises focus on gentle, flowing rhythmic movements, which are done seated whilst introducing slow, deep breathing techniques to help focus and concentration.

They are a great way to improve balance, flexibility and general mobility, as well as reducing stress levels. The focus on breathing can boost both physical and mental wellbeing.

They are available online via Zoom on Tuesdays 11:30am-12:30pm.

Classes are £4 per session.

Stay Strong and Steady (a free introductory course, tailored for those at risk of falling, or who have had a fall).

Being worried about falling or having experienced a fall can stop people keeping active and doing things that they enjoy. We want to help people keep moving so that they can maintain health, mobility and confidence and stay independent.

This free introductory exercise and information programme is designed specifically for people who are concerned about their balance.

If you’re worried about your balance, then ‘Stay Strong and Steady’ can help you regain confidence and stability. By taking part you’ll benefit from a range of evidence-based falls prevention exercises delivered by trained specialists.

All options will provide strength and resistance exercises, which are beneficial for bone and joint health and help to make everyday tasks easier, and balance exercises, which help to reduce the risk of falls and improve posture. You’ll also benefit from general information and discussion to support you to remain strong and steady on your feet. Tutors will share activities and exercises for you to do in your own time at home.

A personalised plan will be provided so you can maintain progress and activity levels once you have graduated from ‘Stay Strong and Steady’, and we’ll discuss the options to continue exercising after the initial 12-week programme.

‘Stay Strong and Steady’ will be delivered by our physical activity team, with support from the team at Move Together (from Active Oxfordshire and the district councils).
