Information & Advice
Our highly trained and experienced friendly advisors offer impartial, confidential information and advice on a wide range of issues, from referral to local services and groups within Bedfordshire through to more in depth advice, for example, on benefit entitlements, housing issues, health and social care needs and money worries. We can also assist in the completion of complex official benefit claim forms, Personal Independence Payments (PIP), Attendance Allowance (AA), Universal Credit and Blue Badge applications. There is no charge for this service, but we are happy to receive donations from successful applicants. If you are housebound and unable to get into our office, then we will do our best to arrange a home visit.
We also operate a free 15 minute monthly consultation service, with a highly experienced solicitor. This service is by appointment only.
The Information & Advice Service is funded in part by Bedford Borough Council and Central Bedfordshire Council. However, without this plus generous donations and other fund raising activities, Age UK Bedfordshire’s Information & Advice Service would not exist. Last year we helped older people in our county to claim benefit entitlements totalling in excess of just over £1.9m.
